Transition Timeline

¬5/5/2004:    Sealed ballot boxes with votes from the ABC Convention that was held on 3/19/04 and the WIBC Convention voting on 5/4/04 were opened and counted. ABC voted 898 to 274 and WIBC voted 1,743 to 716 in favor of the merger. USA Bowling Board of Directors voted in favor of the merger. YABA’s Board of Directors did not approve the merger.
 
¬5/15/2004:    YABA Board of Directors voted unanimously just before the expiration of the Plan of Merger to approve the merger & join the ABC, WIBC & USA Bowling in the creation of the United States Bowling Congress.
 
¬May 2004:   State & Local Associations may begin the transition process

 

¬August 2004:     Associations will have received Letters of Intent, associations will have nearly one year to sign & return letter to USBC. A temporary Charter is issued to all ABC, WIBC & YABA state/local associations for the 2004-05 season. Associations not returning the Letter of Intent will only receive support from Bowling Headquarters for the remainder of the 2004-05 season, however, supplies & services will not be provided thereafter.

 

¬January 1, 2005:        USBC officially launched, ABC, WIBC, YABA, USA Bowling dissolved and USBC begins business.
 
¬May 31, 2005:      Deadline for Letter of Intent submission to USBC

 

¬Spring 2006:      First USBC National Annual Meeting. (Both merged & non-merged associations who submitted Letters of Intent allowed to attend.)

 

¬May 31, 2006:     Associations must have completed transition from ABC, WIBC or YABA to a USBC association.

 

¬Spring 2007:      Second USBC National Annual Meeting. All USBC Chartered associations allowed to attend. First election of open Board positions.
